Example Split Cell Price Test
Split cell tests have been around as long as market research has been, but until now they have been very
expensive and time consuming. The web has changed that.
In a split cell test, you split the sample into multiple parts. Each sample is then exposed to a different questionnaire. You
then can vary specific portions of the test to see how people respond.
In this example, two different groups of people see two different questionnaires proposing a new online brokerage product.
The only difference between the two questionnaires is the price of the proposed product. Additional data is gathered
in each questionnaire to better understand such issues as potential cannibalization and product usage.

You can have as many cells as you need, as long as there is adequate sample. You can vary price, product characteristics,
positioning, etc..
