When I was employed at _______________ I learned that my grandfather had a
terminal ailment and was not expected to survive more than a few weeks. When I requested time
off to "say goodbye" to my grandfather, the request was denied because "I would probably want
time off to attend his funeral." I left that job shortly thereafter. This is still a sensitive
