I drove a route delivery truck for a wholesale company. After a merger with our largest competitor,
the daily load became greater. Instead of loading our own trucks in the morning, the boss shifted
the warehouse crew to an overnight shift. This allowed me to save an hour each morning to allow me
to make the extra deliveries.
On morning couple week after this change, I opened the rear door of the truck at my first stop.
The warehouse crew hadn't secured the load properly and it tumbled out on top of me, knocking me
to the ground unconscious.
A week later I was finally back to work and the boss called me in to his office. He gave me a
written warning for failing to complete the delivery route the day of the accident.
